Rush Hour

Moccasins; TK MAXX | Dress; Primark | Jacket; Primark | Belt; River Island | Watch; Michael Kors | Headband; Topshop

This is a quick post of an outfit I went out in when I was in a immense rush (hence the strange rushed pictures). Maxi dresses are just so easy to slip on when you’re busy and confused about the great British weather and this one is so old and cheap yet I still get compliments on it. Possibly one of my best buys.

Back to Basics

I know it’s pretty humid and everything right now but I’m already thinking of what I want in my winter wardrobe. I’m thinking about going back go basics as I lack most basic things, for example, a plain vest top. Why don’t I own one plain vest top? As the saying goes you can't have a strong house without a good foundation so these are my 10 basic picks to start off my wardrobe.

  1. A black leather jacket - I’ve wanted one for absolutely ages but never seem to find the right one - do I want the traditional biker style, studded, fringed, real leather?

Fringed; Asos | Waterfall; River Island

2. Jeans - Jeans are probably the hardest thing for me to buy and I must be the only girl who owns just one blue pair (which are really ill fitting). It’s such a struggle to find jeans that fit on my bum and thighs and I have recently come reasonably close to finding the perfect pair from ASOS. They have lots of stretch in them to accommodate my bum and they sit a little higher on the hips so you're belly doesn't spill all over the place. Thank God.

Both; Asos

3. A skater skirt - Possibly the most flattering shape skirt, I'm looking out for leather look ones in various colours.

River Island

4. Checked shirt - Arguably they can be seen as dated but I really want one. I think they look great layered over t-shirts and dresses and a leather jacket.

Topshop

5. Cream/ black blouse - No explanation needed, simple and goes with everything.

Both; Topshop

6. LBD - An obvious wardrobe staple which I don't have. I like this one because it reminds me of a  Victoria Beckham design and I think it'll look cute with flats in the day and heels at night.

Romwe

7. A black maxi skirt - This summer I've become quite fond of my collection of maxi skirts because they're so easy to throw on. Surprisingly, I haven't got a black one yet and the thigh split means I can wear it on a night out and not look nun-like.

River Island

8. Slouchy knit - I’m looking for one of those jumpers you can just chuck on anyday and it goes with everything. Last year I made the mistake of buying about 500 extremely thick, cream knits which made me look like a farmers wife. I will NOT be making that mistake this year.

Green; Nasty Gal | Black; Topshop | Red; Wildfox

9. Pointed nails - Not really an item of clothing but it completes the look.

10. Jeffery Campbell Litas - My beloved ASOS heeled boots are on their way out (RIP) so I need to find some new black boots which I can wear with everything, won't break and which will not make me walk like I have a tail.

I’m also obsessed with studs and western tips lately so will be stocking up on eBay and going crazy!

D.I.S.C.O

T-Shirt; Topshop | Disco Pants; American Apparel via eBay | Trainers; Converse @ Schuh

For a while now I’ve been trying to make a torturing decision about whether of not to buy disco pants, (Is it disco pants or discopants? ) the time has come and I’ve bitten the bullet and bought a pair.

I heard they were a bloggers staple and since I’m more of a leggings than a jeans girl it seemed like the perfect new addition to my wardrobe. Now I have seen many posts about whether or not disco pants are for the larger lady and I have to say I really am not sure. The other thing which worries me is a youtube video of a girl who is plus size wearing them and the abuse she got would be enough to make me want to jump off of the nearest motorway flyover. I didn’t even think she looked bad. All the people i’ve seen wearing them take a XS or S so it was refreshing to see a girl in an XL.

They are supposed to suck you in, make your bum look high and your stomach flat and I have to say I was skeptical because I have a lot to suck in. At £70 for a pair I was not taking this decision lightly. (Luckily I got mine from eBay for £39.99 brand new) I have to say they definitely suck you in and although I nearly broke all of my fingers trying to get them on it was worth it.

P.S I have purposely cut my face out of the photos because I have the bubonic plague and look absolutely horrendous.

P.P.S I know this outfit is boring and I have camel toe, I just wanted to showcase the disco pants.
